CODE OF CONDUCT

Athi Lions Football Academy has a Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy, to ensure that all the children that will play under it are protected and cared for. This policy will also ensure that the Vision and Mission of Athi Lions Football Academy is upheld and adhered to.

The Code of Conduct

It shall be the obligation of ALL Coaches and Assistant Coaches to comply with the terms and provisions of the Code of Conduct.

1) The vendor will provide quality football to all players signed under the club.
2) Coaches/Team managers will respect the rights, dignity and worth of each player within the context of the sport.
3) The vendor must place the well-being and safety of each player above other considerations including the development of performance.
4) Coaches/Team managers must adhere to all guidelines laid down within the Constitution and Rules of the Football Kenya Federation under the FIFA body.
5) Coaches/Team Managers must develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based upon mutual trust and respect.
6) Coaches/Team Managers must not exert undue influence to obtain personal benefit or reward.
7) Coaches/Team managers must encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behavior and performance.
8) Coaches/Team Managers must ensure that the activities they direct, or advocate are appropriate for age, maturity, experience and ability of their players.
9) Coaches/Team Managers should at the onset, clarify with players (and their parents/guardians) exactly what is expected of them and what they are entitled to
expect from their coach/managers.
10) Coaches/Team Managers must co-operate fully with other specialists (other coaches, officials, doctors, physiotherapists etc) in the best interests of the
players.
11) Coaches/Team Managers must always display high standards of behavior and be role models for players, parents and spectators.
12) The vendor will provide a qualified medical practitioner during every game practice or tournament, to administer First Aid to any players that require medical
attention, before handing over the player to the parents or a Medical Facility as approved and paid for by the parents/guardian.

Players' Code of Conduct

1) I will exhibit great sportsmanship and fair play at every practice and game competition. I will also encourage this behavior from other teammates, coaches,
officials, parents and supporters.
2) I will make every reasonable effort to attend all practices and games. I will notify my coach if I cannot attend a practice or game competition.
3) I understand that my participation in tournaments will be determined by my attendance, attitude and performance at practices.
4) I will treat other players, coaches, officials and fans with respect regardless of race, gender or ability. I will expect to be treated accordingly.
5) I will encourage my parents to be involved with my team in some capacity because it is important to me.
6) I understand that I am representing Athi Lions Football Academy. Poor behavior during practices may result in loss of playing time and expulsion from the team.
7) I will not engage in physical or verbal confrontations with players, coaches, officials, or fans before, during or after practices and game competitions.
8) I will not wander away from the designated areas during practice or tournaments.
9) I will safeguard the physical wellbeing of my teammates and opponents, avoid violence and rough play and help injured teammates/opponents.
10) I will refrain from using foul or offensive language.
11) I will come to practices and game competitions ready to listen, watch and learn from my coaches.
12) I will not encourage, condone or participate in any activities that may intentionally injure players, spectators, officials or damage soccer facilities.
13) I will leave my environment clean and free of rubbish whether at my game practice or at tournaments.
14) I will understand the rules of the game and play within them.
15) I will be gracious in victory and dignified in defeat.

Parents/Guardians Code of Conduct

I recognize and accept my responsibility as a representative of Athi Lions Football Academy and my child’s football team and pledge to follow this Parent’s code of conduct.
1) I will not be a sideline coach or referee. I will limit my comments to positive reinforcement and encouragement to my child and his teammates.
2) I will lead by example in exhibiting sportsmanship and fair play at every game competition.
3) I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of a personal desire to win. Winning should be the result of preparation, hard work and
discipline.
4) If my child develops behavior-related problems that repeatedly disrupts practice and or/games, I promise to work with my child’s coach to resolve the problem.
5) I will do my very best to make football fun for my child and his teammates.
6) I promise to treat other fans, coaches, players and officials with respect. I will expect to be treated the same in return.
7) I will not engage in physical or verbal confrontations with players, coaches, officials or fans before, during or after practices or game competitions.
8) I will refrain from using foul or offensive language.
9) I will provide encouragement to my child and fellow teammates. I will refrain from making negative comments to my child or his/her teammates.
10) I will support the coaches and officials working with my child in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
11) I will be gracious in victory and dignified in defeat.
12) I will ensure timely drop offs and pickups for my child.
13) I will pay all Club fees in a timely manner.
14) I will provide a medical form and declare any medical condition that my child may have.
