CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
Athi Lions Football Academy acknowledges its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children and young people involved in football, which it organizes or which it supervises and is committed to working to provide them with a safe environment.
The safety and protection of children whilst at Athi Lions Football Academy is paramount to all our coaching and management staff. Staff are committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
This policy should be read by all parents/guardians and coaches. It includes, by extension, our Codes of Conduct, Medical Indemnity Form and Media Consent Form. These documents promote Good Practice, Good Practice Guidelines, Use of photographic/filming equipment,
Confidentiality of information, responding to allegations/suspicions, bullying concerns and providing information to management/law enforcement.
Codes of Conduct
We have Codes of Conduct for parents, children and coaches. When parents sign the consent and/or enrollment forms, they agree to follow the Codes of Conduct. As well as helping to protect the safety and well-being of children, we want to ensure that adults as
well, behave in a way which enhances our key values of discipline, teamwork, integrity, inclusion and enjoyment.
Consent Forms
Medical Indemnity and Media Consent forms are available separately and should be signed and returned to Athi Lions Football Academy Management.
Emergency Procedures
Athi Lions Football Academy has trained and qualified medical personnel from Medswift available at all training sessions and tournaments. Underlying conditions of the child should be disclosed while joining the academy and the child shall be required to have their medication as instructed by their pediatrician. First Aid shall be given, and advanced care shall be provided as instructed and paid for by the parents.
We recommend that children at Athi Lions Football Academy wear shin guards and appropriate footwear suitable to the training grounds. Jewlery and watches shall be removed prior to training. Long hair should be tied back. Finger and toe nails should be clipped short.
Pick-ups and Drop offs
It is the parents’ responsibility to get their children to and from Athi Lions Football Academy training sessions. If a parent wishes their child to find their own way home, they will need to inform the Management and it will be the sole responsibility of the parent to ensure that their own child is safe.
Where the Academy has provided transport, there will be a child minder to ensure the safe pick-off and drop-off of the child.
